Josie Mueller, MA, LMFT, LPC, CART 

Josie Mueller is the president, owner and therapist of Texas Family Solutions. For over 15 years, she has been providing quality counseling services for the greater Brazosport community. Josie envisioned creating an agency that would meet the counseling needs of the entire greater Brazosport Community, including the Spanish speaking sector. She is passionate about working with blended families and with individuals searching for meaning and direction in their lives.

Danny Edwards , MA, LMFT, LPC, LCDC

 

 

Danny is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with 20 years of experience. Danny received his Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and his Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clearlake. His goal is to help children, adolescents, adults (especially veterans), and families who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, whether due to a current crisis or a previous trauma. 

Alyssa Martinez MS, LPC-A
Supervised by Rhonda West MA, LPC-S

Alyssa received her Master's of Science in Family and Consumer Science from Baylor University. She also received her Master's of Science in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston Clear Lake. She has many years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. She has been with TFS working with individuals of all ages, and couples, and families since September 2021. She continues to pursue her passion for helping individuals, families and couples. 

Alexandrea Strnadel, M.Ed., LPC-A

Alexandrea received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Texas A&M University. She received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Lamar University. She looks forward to nourishing her passion for couples, individuals, and family systems. Alexandrea is committed to providing a safe and authentic environment for individuals, families and couples as they journey towards healing. Alexandrea’s therapeutic approach is guided by narrative, collaborative, and CBT therapies.

Matthew Furman MS, LPC-A 
Supervised by Rhonda West MA, LPC-S

Matthew received his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Houston and his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston Clear-Lake. Matthew looks forward to pursuing his passion for mental health.  Matthew is committed to helping others and looks forward to assisting individuals, couples, and families enhance their lives and reach their therapeutic goals.

Melodie Bond MA, LPC

Melodie received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Teaching from Sam Houston State University in 1991.  In 2002, Melodie became certified in Special Education.  She has worked in education for over 20 years working with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 3-25 that struggles with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Depression, Intellectual Disabilities, and a myriad of other disabilities.

Melodie received her Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in 2015.  Melodie has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and adults. Melodie has counseling experience and training in working with individuals that have endured traumatic events in their lives using TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).  Melodie’s therapeutic approach focuses on the use of CBT, DBT, and REBT.  Melodie believes that every person has to ability to develop the skills and habits necessary to overcome the challenges in our lives in order to grow and find happiness.

Gabriela Polanco Intern 
Supervised by Danny Edwards MA, LMFT, LPC, LCDC

Gaby Polanco is a dedicated and passionate graduate student pursuing a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. With over a decade of invaluable experience in the social work field, Gaby brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to her studies and practice.

Having earned her Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Gaby began her journey as a compassionate advocate, working with diverse populations facing various challenges. Her extensive tenure in the field allowed her to develop a profound understanding of the complexities within families and relationships.

Driven by a deep desire to make a more profound impact on individuals and families, Gaby decided to pursue an advanced degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Throughout her academic pursuits, she has demonstrated exceptional insight into human behavior, communication dynamics, and effective therapeutic techniques.

Gaby's unique combination of practical experience and academic rigor allows her to approach therapy with a well-rounded perspective, always striving to foster healthy, harmonious relationships. Her dedication to continuous growth and learning ensures that she stays current with the latest research and therapeutic methodologies, seeking innovative ways to empower her clients and facilitate transformative change in their lives. Gaby is fluent in Spanish, and has a passion for helping Spanish-speaking clients meet their mental health goals in their native language.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Gaby enjoys spending time with her own family, exploring nature, and engaging in creative hobbies. She envisions a future where she can merge her love for social work and marriage and family therapy to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of families and individuals within her community.

Lily Szafranski Intern 
Supervised by Danny Edwards, MA, LMFT, LPC, LCDC

Lily Szafranski is currently enrolled in the Houston Baptist Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and will be specializing in Sports performance, adoption, ADHD, blended families, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Lily's approach to counseling is person-centered. Her aim is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental, safe environment where the client has the capacity for growth and self-actualization. She provides services for teens/tweens,  individual, families, couples (individually), and adults.

 

She believes that solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy can help people find the truth within, and ultimately achieve long term success. Lily also leverages the Adlerian theory which emphasizes the importance of overcoming feelings of inferiority and gaining a sense of belonging in order to achieve success and overall confidence. 

 

Lily believes that too often people put on a brave face and smile on the outside while there is a storm brewing inside. She believes self-love is the key to living an authentic and meaningful life. Her main focus is to educate and create solutions through different tools and strategies to help individuals find ways to explore the struggles that they face. “Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you” (John C Maxwell). Counseling is more than just a bandage for the pain. It is a healing process that can help one emerge feeling whole, confident, and powerful.

Susan Miller Intern 
Supervised by Melodie Bond, MA, LPC

Susan Miller is a Lamar University graduate student pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  Susan brings decades of experience working with individuals, families, and children in many capacities, including social services, victim advocacy, domestic violence, parenting, and early childhood education. 

 

Susan strives to offer a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and collaboratively develop strategies for positive change.   Susan utilizes holistic and person-centered therapeutic modalities including reality therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). 

 

Susan is passionate about helping others improve their well-being and live their most authentic life and looks forward to serving you on your journey toward mental and emotional health.

Lesly Padilla Intern 
Supervised by Melodie Bond, MA, LPC

Lesly Padilla is attending Houston Christian University, she is a graduate student pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Lesly has experience in social services, and ABA therapy. Lesly is learning to specialize in multiple mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and many more.

Lesly hopes to help as many individuals as she can, she provides services for adults, teens, and children of all ages. Lesly uses cognitive behavioral therapy and action orientated approaches to promote developmental growth. Lesly believes that therapy improves daily functioning, and that a therapeutic environment can be a fun and safe place for everyone. Lesly hopes to improve the individual's quality of life. 

Wilbert Brisco Jr. Intern 
Supervised by Melodie Bond, MA, LPC

Will is currently enrolled at the University of St Thomas, pursuing a Master's Degree in Mental Health counseling. He is specializing primarily in Humanistic, Behavioral, and grief counseling. Will believes in creating safe spaces in order for realization, acceptance, and self-growth to take place. 

 

Will’s overall goal is to make therapy more accessible for people of all backgrounds and challenges in addition to, educating people about misconceptions and the benefits of therapy as a whole. 

Will says,” I believe that psychotherapy is a great first- step for overcoming a multitude of challenges, no matter the degree of the circumstances. In addition, I value the importance of empowering individuals to believe that change is possible.”
